Galloway & Porter was established in 1902, by Sidney Galloway and Charles Porter.

Sidney Galloway left the business shortly afterwards due to his wifes ill health and set up a separate company, Galloway's Bookshop in Aberystwyth.

Galloway & Porter carried on in Cambridge without him and is now run by the 3rd generation of the Porter family.

Galloway & Porter has in the past traded in new books, office supplies, and journal subscriptions, but now concentrates entirely on reduced, remainder and second-hand books. Selling to the general public and to the trade.

Galloway & Porter operates a city centre shop in Cambridge where it sells a numerous selection of exceptionally low priced books.

Once or twice a month Saturday sales are held at our warehouse where most books are just £1. Occasional academic sales are also held there with most books £2.

In recent years Galloway & Porter has also moved into internet selling and sells books online through Amazon.co.uk and Abebooks.com. Click here to View stock.
